Safe Environment Policies

Parishioners are invited to be familiar with these policies, which include: Code of Ethical Conduct, Charter for the Protection of Young People, and the VIRTUS Five Steps to Protect.

Diocesan VIRTUS training, required of all volunteers working with or around children, is based on Five Steps to Protect:

• Know the warning signs
• Control access through screening
• Monitor all ministries and programs
• Be aware of child and youth behavior
• Communicate your concerns
